lyrics

[Verse1]
I got a letter from his majesty the other day
I opened it and read it and it said I had to pay
A couple grand within five days or whatever
Picture me obey to pay the king I said never

So I tossed the letter, on the rest of my collection
The stack of debt collectors threats could get me a depression
I check my bank balance and it tells me 7 cents
My stomache rumbles and I'm two months behind on rent

Recently I was employed but my contract had just ended
They even failed to tell me why it hadn't been extended
Temporarily no salary the ends they barely meet
Can I prevent eviction and getting kicked out on the street?

I already must have filed over 60 job applications
Sending out custom resumes and perfect motivations
But the unemployment rate in my city is tremendous
Every vacancy available gets at least a thousand letters

[Chorus]
I'm the brokest, in debt not in the showbiz
The monthly struggle for the rent can't be what the goal is
It's hopeless, I got to get up and focus
Another day another bill another final notice

No miss, tonight we're eating no dish
No bread no veggies meat no pasta nuts and no fish
The brokest, all my people know this
It isn't hard to tell I was hungry when I wrote this

[Verse 2]
If you want to get a picture of the poorman's life I live
An empty bottle of tabasco is the last thing in my fridge
And if my ride with 27 inch rims is suprising you
Then I forgot to tell you my ride's my broken bicycle

Buy this buy that is what the ads on your TV say
But if I owned a television I'd be putting it on Ebay
I'm contemplating crime but can not spend the time
On rock bottom tryna climb tied up with the poverty line

They broke in to my house and left .. some money! not to mention
I would try to learn a trade if I could afford to pay attention
I tried sleeping on a park bench but I had to let it pass
Cause ducks would wake me up tossing bread down at my ass

You might think that I'm joking but my poverty's exceptional
My roaches are on hunger strike and might turn into cannibals
My need for money's worse than a junkie with ya purse
I might have passed from malnutrition by the time you hear this verse

[Chorus]
I'm the brokest, in debt not in the showbiz
The monthly struggle for the rent can't be what the goal is
It's hopeless, I got to get up and focus
Another day another bill another final notice

No miss, tonight we're eating no dish
No bread no veggies meat no pasta nuts and no fish
The brokest, all my people know this
It isn't hard to tell I was hungry when I wrote this

[Verse 3]
Most people up in jail were unable to make a living
This monetary system is another form of prison
Everything got a barcode like prison bars, listen
This album is the first with prison symbolism missing

Think, just to be able to get a roof over your head
Some dinner and some bread, the comfort of a bed
For minimum wage we slave for days, can't you see that
Work all day to pay for the house we hardly get to be at

A bank creates a loan just by pushing on a button
Almost all our money's debt the banks created out of nothing
The person has to pay back the loan, plus the interest
Why you think the banking families became some of the richest?

A few banksters thought up the central banking scheme
More profit can be made lending to a government or a king
Central banks now make the profits for these families of mobsters
So if this rap shit dont work out I'ma be a bank robber

[Chorus]
I'm the brokest, in debt not in the showbiz
The monthly struggle for the rent can't be what the goal is
It's hopeless, I got to get up and focus
Another day another bill another final notice

No miss, tonight we're eating no dish
No bread no veggies meat no pasta nuts and no fish
The brokest, all my people know this
It isn't hard to tell I was hungry when I wrote this
